forensic economist, Don Frankenfeld, is launching a nationwide internet service for
attorneys, and he's looking for help from South Dakota attorneys willing to be "beta
testers." Don Frankenfeld has incorporated Frankenfeld Associates Interactive, which
intends to create the premiere economic resource site for attorneys. A unique feature of Frankenfeld's site will be an interactive
analysis package which will enable participating lawyers to create their own, on-line
economic analyses and reports. For example, an attorney who has received a settlement
offer can quickly and easily evaluate that offer with a visit to the Frankenfeld web page.
The attorney simply inputs basic information such as a client's gender, date of birth, and
the amount of a periodic offer. The site then calculates life expectancy (or worklife
expectancy), projects the payment amounts into the future year by year, and discounts to
the appropriate present value. The report, including detailed tables and full color charts
and graphs, can then be printed directly or downloaded in a reproducible computer file
format. Frankenfeld also expects to launch more sophisticated models for personal injury,
wrongful death, employment termination, and business evaluation. |
According to
Frankenfeld, the site will include current economic news, tables and statistics, plus a
weekly electronic bulletin on economic issues and one or more "chat areas" in
which litigators can share information and compare notes. In addition, the site will
contain detailed and comprehensive listings from economic experts from across the country.
"Ultimately, our site will list more economic experts and provide more detailed
information about each expert than any other site," says Frankenfeld. "Most such
services charge experts a listing fee, which reduces participation dramatically. Also each
listing provides only minimal information. Because we make our listing available to
experts without charge, we expect participation will be nearly 100%. Moreover, we intend
to publish on the web as much information as the listing expert chooses to provide,
including pictures, brochures, CVs, testimonial history, and the like. We want to give
lawyers a good reason to visit out site often." A
prototype of the site is available at "www.frankenfeld.com"
while a completely revised site will soon be available at the same address. South Dakota
lawyers who wise to serve as "beta testers" of the site should call Don
Frankenfeld at 605-348-8441.
